Einset Seafishing

The main fish in spring is without a doubt the cod and with a bit of luck you might even catch one or more wolffish here – throw in a few shorter pirk movements from time to time (this technique also seems to be quite successful on haddock here, by the way), and then try natural bait if you've "caught" one - wolffish rarely stand alone. You can find a good place for this south and south-west of the island of Langøya.

Good deep sea fishing for larger cod, ling and tusk west and south of Aspøya island - but don't fish too deep here - from 150m water depth you will hardly find any spots without a muddy bottom. The edges between 85 m and 125 m in Freifjorden are best fished. Here we also caught one or the other redfish - but only smaller specimens.

The big coalfish should then be one of the main fish in the summer – you have a good chance here in the open as well as in the Bergsøyfjord and Tingvollfjord. Pay attention to the signals on your echo sounder: we found that pollock were very common in midwater between 40 m - 120 m - mostly where the fjords were particularly deep (up to 350 m). Best time: the last 2 hours before high tide.

Oh yeah, and better turn off the sonar for a while if you're over a school of pollock. Believe it or not, Koehler react very sensitively to the sound waves of the e-solder.

If you want to fish in Karihavet (that is, by the jetty), then get yourself some lugworms. On days when nothing seemed to work here at all, we still caught a few nice slabs and medium-sized cod up to 6 pounds.

By the way: If you ever feel like catching salmonids - the Batnfjordselva (approx. 40 minutes by boat away) is a quite passable salmon and sea trout river, and especially if the water level of the river is too low for the fish to swim up, you should do it during the summer definitely try it in the evening hours from the boat with a shallow sea trout spoon in the estuary area of ??the river. Very often you can even see the fish jumping. You also have a good chance of not just catching a trout in the surrounding lakes and rivers.
