The distances to the fishing spots are very short, so you can explore the fishing spots all around Medbåen, Innerbåen and Vesterbåen can be reached in just 10-20 minutes by boat. The outside of Grøtavær is a maximum of 25 minutes away - here you have a good chance of halibut in the countless sandy plateaus that drop up to 300 m towards the fjord. The inner Andfjord is known for its good stock of halibut, but cod, coalfish, redfish and haddock are also plentiful and of good size here in the fjord. If you fish on the shallow plateaus and shore areas, you can expect good-sized wolffish up to 10 kg. In the summer months, the fjord fills with masses of baitfish, which sometimes bring the water to a boil – followed by large coalfish and cod, for which the table is now richly set. There is also plenty to explore here for those who want to experience something different after a day of fishing. For example, take a tour of Storfjellet at 809m or Litlegalten at 510m, which rises directly behind the house - here you have an indescribably beautiful view over the entire Andfjord to the island of Andøya.
